Week 1

Christmas is so far back in the rear view mirror I can barely see it. Many of my days are the same which is to be expected working part-time and caregiving full time. There is little deviation from the schedule, as a result, most days typically pass slowly.

In the last 8 days, I've made plans to see a friend Sunday after church and to see another friend for dinner next week. Human contact outside my husband (I love him and am thankful for him, but I need time with my friends.) and care recipient. So far, I have not scheduled time for my online French course. I also signed up for an online stretch class. The class to work the calves, ankles, and feet seemed easy enough. Then, 4 hours later, each step was agonizing. Illustrates just how much I need the stretch class!

So my 2019 goals thus far are:

Spend time in person with a friend/friends at least once a month.
Send greeting cards once more.
Complete online French course.
And I added the stretch class, my goal is to take a class 2 or 3 times a week.

Spiritually speaking, as always my goal is to spend time in prayer and in the Word. Today, I failed. But that is OK, the day is not over and tomorrow is a new day.

God is merciful and forgiving. Psalm 103 (NIV) sums it up for us:
.
Praise the Lord, my soul;
    all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
    and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
    and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The Lord works righteousness
    and justice for all the oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
    his deeds to the people of Israel:
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
    slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse,
    nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
    or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
    so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
    so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
    he remembers that we are dust.
15 The life of mortals is like grass,
    they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
    and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
    the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
    and his righteousness with their children’s children
18 with those who keep his covenant
    and remember to obey his precepts.
19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
    and his kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,
    you mighty ones who do his bidding,
    who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
    you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his works
    everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, my soul.

Good luck with your goals. It's important to see your friends on a regular basis, I feel. Good friends make you laugh, share in your joy and sadness, validate whatever it is you are needing validation about. And just relax and let loose.

I haven't gotten back to exercise as yet. Was going to aquafit before Christmas and line dancing before that. It will come.

My goal is to stop hiding and get out there and market my book, be more open to people and their needs, and just stop and think before opening my big fat mouth. LOL.
