January 2013

It was exciting to view the Lproof.org blog and see the number of women committed to memorizing Scripture this year.

I am memorizing the 1st few verses of John 1 in the ESV this month. Hopefully by the end of the year; I will know the verses in the ESV and not combine the ESV, NIV, and KJV.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Feel free to leave your memory verses in a comment.

I'm super excited to memorize Scripture with you, my dear sister in Christ! Who knows; maybe we can really memorize this year and attend the celebration when we finish! Please feel free to hold me accountable this time! I'm not giving up! I wish we were neighbors so we could have lunch and meet on a regular basis... and perhaps go Christmas caroling and NOT sing the hippo song! (Thanks for the laugh tonight!)

Love you,
Angie

Love you too Ang! I decided to memorize out of the ESV because it is mostly new to me.

We can do this together because with Christ all things are possible.

Love you!

Annette, my first verse for this new year is 2 John 6 (NIV84):

"And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love."

That's great that you're doing this because I'm going to need me some accountability. I am not sure what my verse for tomorrow will be but my first one is:
"Commit your works to the Lord, and He will establish your plans." Prov 16:3

John is such a great book to memorize. I was considering John 4 but decided to be random in selecting my verses after talking with Ang. Now if only I can get the addresses down!

Annette, I am doing a few verses from John 1 and 3. I usually have trouble with the addresses.
