A Prayer, a Song and a Priest

I had so much fun last weekend. I met Karen, Anna Marie and Katie in Hallettsville, TX Friday night because we were participating in a 5K race on Saturday benefiting Young Life.

Saturday Karen and Anna Marie came to my house after the race and spent the night. We went to dinner and a movie and to church on Sunday morning. They went 45 minutes early with me to prayer walk the campus, and pray inside the gym (our temporary sanctuary). Don and Jeannine joined us for prayer. We prayed for many things to be accomplished - most especially people enter and worship with a reverent heart, knowing though we are in a gym - this is a sanctuary which is holy ground. The prayers were answered in a mighty way. The band began practicing a song called I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light. That particular song was Anna Marie and Jack's youngest son's favorite song. It was the last song sang at his funeral. No matter where Anna Marie attends church the nearest weekend to the anniversary of his birth or death, the song is played. No one at theses churches know it was Stevie's favorite song. No one knows the dates involved. It's a God moment. Our interim priest walked in the door, Karen's mouth dropped open because Father Scottie officiated at her wedding in San Antonio, TX 24 years ago. They were so happy to see each other! Another God moment.

God blesses us in many ways and answers prayers all the time. Sometimes we are so busy not listening we miss it. His Word is true, you can rely on Him. He will never fail you!Look for your God moments...

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep. O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.

You are so right--we may not notice but He is ever interceding and mercifully granting us favor. That is especially sweet about the song being sung wherever they go, to show them He remembers and comforts. Sounds like the perfect weekend. Love you, Annette

Love it when those God moments happen. They are amazing -- but then again, we have an amazing God, don't we?
