A Lost Diamond and Lung Cancer

Yesterday, my friend had surgery to remove cancer from his lung. He and his wife are believers and are standing in faith but have had a little trouble with fear.

They booked their vacation months ago for last week. The doctor told them to take it, so they did; some of their family joined them. They stayed at a marvelous resort on a beach with pools and many amenities. During the vacation, the diamond fell out of my friend's ring. They searched for it to no avail. The next day, their grandson was swimming in 1 of the resort's gigantic pools with numerous other guests and stepped on something. He picked it up to see what it was. It was his grandmother's diamond.

I believe that was a sign reminding them God never forsakes us, He never ever leaves us, and He is ever faithful. Once again, we must not only believe in Him, we must believe Him and to believe Him requires knowing what He promises us in His word.

This is a small sampling of His promises to us:

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Matthew 28:20b Jesus said, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Romans 3:21-23 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

He never ceases to amaze with how He can do exceedingly, abundantly more than we ask or imagine. What a great story.
