November 15 - Siesta Verse

I chose this verse after thinking about Psalm 16 through out the morning, it is also the Psalm apointed for the day (Episcopalian terminology)...

Psalm 16:7 I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.

Literally in the night I want me heart to instruct me in the things of the Lord, I don't want my heart dwelling on the things of the world.

If I am spriritually in the dark, I really want the Lord's counsel, I want to hear Him and know it's Him. I want to know Him and His word so well, that I will not be led astray. I've been down the wrong path before whether in error or willful sinning on my part. In other words: been there, done that - prefer not to do it again, though as a human, I know I will sin.

I pray you have a blessed Sabbath.

Even in the night, letting the counsel you...it's so sweet a thought especially after a sleepless night for me night before last, focusing on lots of trivial things. My mind literally would not stop, so I started reciting my memory scriptures, then got stuck and was too lazy to get up and look, so my mind drifted back to the mundane and temporal worries. This verse speaks to me on that level. Even while we sleep, may His counsel be manifest in us. Love, Annette

oops...letting the *LORD* counsel you.

Like this verse. So easy to let the world direct us more than the heart of the Lord.

Hey there. I'm trying to catch up on my blog surfing. It was so surreal, special, can't find the word...to see my brother's name on the list of prayers for salvation. Thanks again for that.

Makes me think of how sometimes the Lord will even speak to us through a dream...

Autumn greetings! I stumbled onto your blog as I was doing some research for a book I am writing. I have enjoyed the overall theme, though the Oct. 9 entry on Ezekiel is what attracted me, as a chapter I am working on concerns the Ezekiel 38-39 scenario. Herein, I simply wished to say thank you for posting on that topic, for the awareness of such is of utmost import in our day...
Godspeed!
