Most people in southeast Texas look forward to fall which visually is not much different from summer, but brings an exciting drop in temperatures. My living room and dining room are adorned with pumpkins and fall foliage.
I am in a season of intercession for a church I want to leave. I was sitting in the pew one Sunday several weeks ago whining (I wish I could honestly call it praying, but I cannot.) to the Lord about cell phones ringing, women sitting behind me carrying on a conversation and children misbehaving during the service. I said when can I leave this place and join another church!!! Suddenly I felt deep in my heart what the Lord feels for this congregation. Since then I have prayed over the sanctuary and church campus as well as the people attending the services. I have no idea if the season is long or short, but I will be obedient to the Lord.
Some seasons are short, some are long, some are hard, some are sweet. Remember whatever season you are in will not last forever. Keep your eyes on the Lord, a heavenly banquet awaits us:
Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.) Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' " And he added, "These are the true words of God."

So glad you are listening to the Lord's leading, Annette, and letting your current season run its course as He wills. Love the scripture you ended with. And that's a season that will never end! Hallelujah, huh?!
Thank you for this post,my sister. I am praying for my church too.
God is really opening my eyes to the Christian "world" and their lack of love for our God. Everytime I look out at this Christian "world", God begins to change my focus to myself.
As I pray for my church and Christians in general, He reminds me that I can look just like them in other areas of my life.

I love your heart Annette. I believe that through your obedience something special is going to happen. I don't know how it will look, but I know that prayer and trust are powerful things in the hand of a mighty God.
