Seasons

I love fall, some years we almost have fall in southeast Texas. Ang posted beautiful pictures on Facebook the other day. I cannot wait to wear a sweater, drink hot chololate (sugar free of course) and have a blazing fire in the fireplace. I am looking forward to planting pansies and snapdragons. I have planted a few petunias and lobelia.

Last year we had a few snowflakes, I would love to see more of them this winter. I love spring too with all the new life and the migratory birds which pass through on their way up north.

I like summer for a week or 2.

I look over the seasons I have with the Lord, no matter the season, He is always there, never let's me go, though I may pull my hand out of His hand and run my own way for a while.

I prayed silently over a lady last weekend, I prayed she would sit next to our Lord with her head on His breast just as John did. I did not mention the prayer to anyone. The next day my friend prayed the same thing over her and it turns out the woman prayed the same prayer over herself the night before.

I pray we all recline with Him and lay our head on His breast, hear His heart beat and rest in Him.

Christmas will be here before we know it. Let us practice resting in the Lord and be much better at it by the time the holiday season arrives.

After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me." His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant. One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, (John) was reclining next to him. Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he means." Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, "Lord, who is it?"


As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."


Let us be like Mary and sit at His feet, choosing what will not be taken away from us. Sure we are busy, but there is no point in stressing and fretting, letting the busyness of the holiday season keep us from sitting at His feet or reclining next to Him.
