Love and Persedangvering

My Siesta Memory Verse is: I Cor 13:6-7

Love does not delight in evil bit rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

For some reason I never noticed the last word before - PERSEVERES
(and to add emphasis - Love always persedangveres) Persevere means: To persist in or remain constant to a purpose, idea, or task in the face of obstacles or discouragement.

It is easy not to delight in evil and rejoice with the truth. It is easy to protect those we love, sometimes it's hard to trust those we love due to hurts we have suffered, it can be hard to hope in the natural sense but easy to hope in the eternal sense, and it can be downright difficult to persevere...but obviously it's what the Lord wants us to do and He supplies us with the grace to do so.

Verse 8-10 tells us: Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

It may look to our mortal eyes as if love has failed when marriages end, when feuds are not resolved, but that is not true. If a relationship is broken, meditate and feast on love verses, pray them over your loved one. You may not have the answer you are looking for here on earth, but your loved one will spend eternity in heaven and that is what is important, spending eternity in our real home.

Endeavor to love...with Him all things are possible...

These are verses I've been reading lately, helping select the readings for the wedding. Persevere truly is my watchword for marriage. We go through seasons, and it gets better, when we set our hearts on Him. I wouldn't trade a moment in loving because of what inevitably follows. Great verses to commit to heart--they are the best advice for relationships. Love, Annette

This portion of scripture has come up again and again this week in my boys school work and other sources...I think the Lord is emphasizing it to me for a reason! Great post! Hugs!

I just heard a message about marriage that my daughter sent me from her church in New York. The purpose of marriage is to display to the world what a Christian looks like. To persevere is what it's all about. If not, I would want to quit. Excellent verses to memorize! Thank you for sharing!
