Blogging Sister Wendy

One of my blogging sisters is Wendy, who is a full time caregiver to her husband. He is ill with COPD. She wrote an honest and poignant post the other day to which I could not even form a response. It was about changes. I know those changes. For example when someone decides they need a walker or a wheelchair...it's a change and with changes come a little bit of loss...you time everything so as to not be out of pocket/away from home for long, you feel the loss of freedom for your loved one as they lose a little more...changes...

I would ask you to lift Wendy and her husband up in prayer. Pray for peace and wholeness in Christ Jesus. I continue to pray for his lungs to be healed and their youth renewed like the eagle's youth as described in Psalm 103. Pray for refreshment and anything else the Holy Spirit lays on your heart.

Let's carry them before the Lord as the friends carried the paralytic...

So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven." Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'?But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . ." He said to the paralytic, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"

Such a dear, encouraging post Annette.
I will keep them in my prayers. I see the same thing happening with my aging parents. That sense of loss can be overwhelming at times.

With every change, there is a loss. Praying for Wendy this evening. This scripture encourages me because when we can't pray, our sisters can stand in the gap. I love your heart. Annette G

Dear Annette,
I am truly touched. By your good heart, by your thoughtfulness, by your sweet compassion. Somehow we are linked. I don't know how, but we share something; a kindred spirit, a spiritual sisterhood, something I can't explain.
Thank you so much for your encouraging and supportive post. And I thank your blogging friends for their prayers and hearts.
For the past 2 days my hubby has not been well at all. However, today, he seems to be in much better spirits. Have your prayers reached him already? How wonderful!
As we travel this road together, sharing our journey, it's friends like you who care enough to reach out that helps to ease our pain.

Losses due to health problems and aging can be so difficult... I pray that God will minister to Wendy and her husband as only He can.
