Drought

I am so thankful for the rain we received Thursday through Sunday night. I hope we receive more next week. So much of Texas is in serious drought. My area became dry after Ike hit which is common after a large hurricane moves through an area. It takes a lot of moisture out of the area when it moves inland.

We too are in drought when we do not stay in the Word. If we remain in a drought like state for long, we are in serious fire danger...the enemy is just waiting to throw a fiery dart. We may be so spiritually dry we cannot quench it with our shield of faith because our faith level is so low our shield is small.

Spend time in the Word, it brings life, it builds our faith, we begin to really believe what God says to us and we live it. Drink from the well...

John 7:37-39

On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

Your post meade me think of a verse in Hosea that a church of ours put to music: "Let us know. Let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn. And He will come to us like the rain. Like the spring rain watering the earth. So let us press to know the Lord. Like the spring rain watering the earth. So let us press to know the Lord!"

Bring on the rain in both our physical and our spiritual lives. Like a good rain, we need so desperately His Living Water. Great analogy. Love, Annette G
