I Love Wally World

I keep trying to convince myself I love a certain retail Giant I will refer to as Wally World...I went early this morning to buy a few cleaning items. The produce looked decent so I bought a bag of Clementines as well and decided to buy lowfat, vanilla yogurt as well.

As I reached for the yogurt, a code something was announced over the loud speaker, employees really scrambled and the store was on lock down. For a moment, I thought I do not want to be held hostage in Wally World and then realized the situation was due to a lost or snatched child. A few moments later everything was back to normal.

As the cashier was ringing up my purchases, the fire alarms began sounding...I thought this better be a drill and she better let me pay. (No smoke, no firetrucks - this girl ain't leaving Wally World without her cleaning supplies, Clementines, and yogurt.) Employees dashed out...customers continued to shop, then the voice that reminded me of a school teacher came over the loud speaker, this is a drill, please continue to shop.

I almost made it to the door when the announcement came over the loud speaker, the sprinkler test was about to begin...I ran...wet was not an option this morning.

Hope your mornings began in a more peaceful manner than mine did! I think I will meditate on the following Scriptures:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Wow, I thought I hated that store before, but do you think that they might time some of those drills in the night? Sure missed you last night. We are going early next week to hear it again. Does that tell you anything? If you can, it would be great for you to hear. It has been very good the last two weeks. Love you, Annette G

Too funny. I saw flames in our Wally World last week in the meat department...thankfully no sprinkler came on but boy were the managers running! You never know what will happen!

I have a love/hate relationship with WW as well. (and with blogger too since it just ate my comment. sigh.)

Oh my. If I didn't know better, I'd have to assume you were telling a story...ya know, fibbing. How can one WW have so many drills/tests/announcements in one day, in one hour. Golly gee, Wally, that doesn't seem right (says Beaver).

Boy! That was some morning. Glad you got out with your essentials. Ah, but did you remember to buy chocolate? That's what all the alarms were trying to tell you - don't forget your chocolate. LOL!

Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. I draw strength from you Annette. When you said you know where you father is "in God's hands", I felt more peaceful about when it's my hubby's turn. Hopefully that won't be for a while yet. He is feeling stronger. We just never know - it's when God decides.

Clementines! My favorites! Wish we could sit on the porch and share one...maybe not...since they are so tiny!
I like WW a tiny bit more than kmart. I don't know why, but I always feel like a mouse in WW.
And please start back the Bible study. Even if you are afraid of dripping a few tears...or doing the ugly cry...go learn all about The Inheritance. Wish I could join y'all...

Wow! You couldn't have timed that any better had you tried Annette:-)
I had a friend who was staying in a hotel when there was a fire drill in the middle of the night. They DID have to get up and run outside. I can't remember whether she said she packed a robe or not, but I've decided I always will:-)

Hilarious!!! I promise you, when I was a teacher at the school right by Wowmart (as Linda at 2nd cup says) I would stop on my way home and every.single.time. the bathroom was shut for cleaning. Teachers have to go, you know so I would have to leave my cart and run to my car to go home. Not kidding. I bet it happened 6 times that year. Now, I avoid it like the plague.
