12th Night Give Away

It's the 12th night, the last day of Christmas so...for the last time until December - Merry Christmas! I thought (my husband shudders when I begin sentences with I thought or I have been thinking) it would be a great time to have give away. The winner will receive a slightly used New York City Ballet Workout DVD, just kidding, the winner will receive Kidnapped, written by Dee Henderson. Cold weather makes me want to read and drink hot chocolate or a cup of tea. Post a comment and make sure I have your e-mail address if it's not in your blog profile. Participants must be in the USA or Canada. I will make exceptions for anyone serving in the US Military. I will draw the name on Friday.

I was a prayer minister at The Little White Church yesterday in Barker, TX which is now just barely outside the Houston City Limits. The church is on a ranch, Longhorn cattle were roaming around. When you drive through the gate the sign reads if the cows are out close the gate. I smile every January when I see the sign. The Rev. Jack Sheffield preaches there the 1st Sunday in January. Lots of people were healed. One young man wanted prayer for his foot, Jack asked if I could sit down on the floor and lay hands on his injured foot while we prayed. I thought I will need prayer to stand up! We prayed and I was able to stand w/o assistance. I will do the New York City Ballet again tonight, that way as I told Linda - I can bathe, take an Alleve and fall into bed and whine to the Lord about my aches and pains after I have done it instead of getting stiff at my desk during the day.

I have learned by 1st verse of the year, Psalm 29:11 NKJV - The Lord will give strength to His people, the Lord will bless His people with peace. I keep repeating it on posts to make sure I really know it.

Time for more coffee and to get some laundry done before work. Have a blessed day. Here's a great word for us, a portion of Psalm 91 from the Amplified Bible:

HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent. For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service]. They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot. Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness--trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never]. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

I'd LOVE the workout DVD! (Just so they don't workout to the tune of the Hippo song! :) Oh, wait... it's a book! That would be even better! Glad you are doing well on your memory verse. I tried to test myself on someone's blog last night and made just a couple little mistakes. If you don't mind, I'm going to try again now on yours... "And hope does not disappoint US because God poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom he has GIVEN us." Romans 5:5

Thanks! I am can't remember if it is "pours" or "poured". Hmmm I'll go check!
Thanks, friend!
Have a good day,
Angie xoxo

Throw my name in the hat, please, Annette. I love giveaways :)

I didn't know there was a Barker, TX! My daughter lived in Houston for a couple of years, but we never discovered another Barker there! :)
