Olympics

You may be watching too much of the Olympics if you discover a new sport you never knew existed - team handball - and you could care less about it, have no idea if the USA has a women's team and you watch Norway and South Korea anyway. (Norway won.)

You may be watching too much of the Olympics if you notice Brazil and Belgium are playing soccer/football and you turn the station from MSNBC to watch it on Telemundo and you don't speak Spanish. My husband and I watch soccer, baseball, and basketball on Telemundo when teams from Spain, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean are playing because the sportscasters are so animated. For example today when Brazil scored, one of the sportscasters yelled SCORE and Viva Brazil. Belgium almost made a goal and the announcer sounded like Ben Steines.

You may be watching too much of the Olympics if you cannot stand water polo and complain all they are showing is water polo.

You may be watching too much of the Olympics if you complain they have not aired enough:

Sailing
Shot put
Discus Throwing
Long Jump
High Jump
Pole Vaulting
Badminton
Fencing
Archery
Field Hockey
Modern Pentathlon
Ping Pong
Tennis

Anyway - as you can tell from this post, I have watched way too much TV the last 2 weeks and am exhausted by it. Time to get a hold of myself, the Olympics are almost over, and reduce my TV intake by 90%.

Have a great weekend. Praying for my Siestas!

It was great watching Michael Phelps! My husband cannot stand sports (an anomoly in TX) and called me to make sure he was not missing any of Phelps' events.

Oh yeah, I agree. I did enjoy the trampoline. Never knew it was a sport. Ah well - it's almost over.
Have a blessed weekend.

Yes, i never knew how the Olympics could take over your life!!! Luckily, once swimming and gymnastics were over, i wasn't watching so much, but man, thank the Lord they're only every 4 years!!!!

And regarding the water polo...what surprised me was some of those underwater angles (at least for the women). WOW! Even if I was the best water polo player that ever lived, i think i would quit just for that!
