Hot Sunday in Southeast Texas

I rarely post of Sunday, but I will today. My husband is still tired from his fishing tournament. My dad is still tired from the hospital, my mother is exhausted. I did take a nap yesterday. This morning I sat outside with my cup of coffee and watching hummingbirds chase and squeak at one another. I love watching hummingbirds!

I was asked about a couple of Texas Festivals/Events. The Electra Goat BBQ Cook Off, is in Electra which is in north Texas near Wichita Falls…I once received a ticket outside Electra for driving 80 mph in a zone posted 55 mph. Scariest state trooper I ever encountered, she almost scared the socks off me. (Texans speed, we have a long way to go to get most places.) The Rattlesnake Round Up is in Sweetwater which is in west Texas.

I am going to visit a church this morning which is kinda scary in a way because I have attended the same church for almost 20 years. I began attending Calvary when I was 28.
I went from being a pew sitter to being an involved member to teaching jr high Sunday school (I try to repress these memories, just kidding), I was director of prayer ministry and then led women’s classes. I love all the women in our group, we ranged in age from mid 30’s to mid 80’s.

I pray I land at the church the Lord wants me to attend.

Have a blessed Sabbath everyone. God loves you very much.

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance.

Having just come from a service that has blessed my heart beyond measure, a church that ten years ago I would have never ever thought that I would attend (or my husband would attend and ENJOY), I am praying that you too will find God's home for your heart.

blessings,
karen
