Fear Not

Fear not is probably the most common phrase in the Bible, but it's hard to live life without an incident of fear every now and then. My hours were cut at my part time job, a part time job is great for me at this point with my parents' health concerns. I also own a business which I scaled way back last year due to my situation, so if I am fired next week I will pray to determine whether the Lord is steering me to work elsewhere or build my business up a little bit but not too much so I can work around 30 hours a week. This is the 1st time since I was 14 I am facing being fired. It's weird, part of me is OK and part of me can feel the fear trying to needle me. There is nothing for me to fear in the natural or the spirit realm, if God is for me, who can be against me!

I know this part time job was a God thing because I prayed one morning about closing my business and what to do as I was taking more time off to drive my parents to the doctor, etc. I said Lord, I am so tired, if I am to work for someone else don't let me miss it, make the job offer something weird like in public or at dinner, the job offer came that night at dinner at a restaurant. So, maybe the season for this is over, or maybe business will pick up and I will have more hours. My concern is: His will be done!

So any of you dealing with fear for any reason, let these Scriptures feed you and build you up:

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

You came near when I called you, and you said, "Do not fear."

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

I forgot to mention...in the devotional I am reading right now (Jesus calling by Sarah Young) today's reading said, "relax and remember that circumstances cannot touch My peace." Another good thing to cling to during this time.

I get so mad at myself for being afraid. Nine out of ten times, it works out just fine, and then I let it steal some joy. Beautiful verses to claim. I'm praying for yur peace, your release from all anxiety. Love, Annette

Praise the Lord a human may fire you but God will never fire you.

Remember if you are fired, God will provide. When one door closes, God opens a window.

I know the one time I was fired was such a blessing. It was a dead end job where there was nothing to do so I would read old issue of the college magazine, organize files and closets. That job ending led to another job for five years where friendships were built, I was able to finish college and it gave me skills to have the job I've now had for 4+ years. The job I now have led to meeting my husband through a co-worker.

So, God will most definitely be in this. Be excited if man fires you because God will hire you for another job.

Usually, when a company has to "downsize" they lay off their employees. It's rare they fire them.

I'm feeling as Annette does. I get anxious and fearful and 9 times out of 10 everything works out just fine.
Good luck - when one door closes, another always opens.
Thanks for the verses - I needed to hear them.
