Exercise in an Unusual Place

Yesterday I had my annual check up at a specialist's office, mammograms and ultra sound. I left work at 1:20p expecting to return by 4:00...HA! The mammograms began on time. Memorial Hermann Southwest had 1 ultra sound machine down, as a result I was still sitting in my little seersucker robe and jeans at 4:00p. I finally made it through the ultra sound and then had to go to another building to see my doctor. They instructed me to take a shuttle.

I went outside and headed toward the shuttle stop, I saw people about to faint in the heat. I thought forget it and walked over the the doctor, the walk was about 2 blocks, it was 101 surely this means I burned an extra calorie! Saw the doctor, received a clean bill of health, and then walked back to my car which was about the equivalent of 6 blocks from the doctor's office. More exercise in the massive Memorial Hermann parking lot.

The Lord blessed me in the rush hour traffic and I made it home in time to host Bible Study. It is so good to be meeting with my sisters again. We finished Stepping Up in May and I haven't seen them in a month.

I did well in the eating too much department yesterday. Did well grocery shopping on Monday night. No chips or junk food. I am praying to lose the desire to eat crummy food and eat mainly vegetables and fruits.

So I exercised a little yesterday, will walk tonight, I will be up to 2.5 miles 4 to 5 days a week soon. Now it's time to renew my mind in the Word.

Have a blessed day.

I am amazed and inspired by your workout. (I wouldn't mind leaving out the mammogram though.)

Be strong, girlfriend!

Wow, Annette -- great exercise, healthy eating, and going for routine check-ups. Good for you! I have the most trouble with getting the check-ups, but then again I'm responsible to take my mother-in-law to her appointments. Those add up since she has some serious health concerns...

Keep up the good work and be blessed!

You go to a specialist and have an ultrasound, and that tells me to thank God extra for your clean bill of health. So glad all is well. And manage to work in a little exercise. Can't beat that. Love, A
