II Timothy Kind of Day

Yesterday I listened to a story about a 10 year old boy, he stole his mother's credit card, stole the passwords to the cable TV parent control and ordered adult movies, he then got her computer passwords ordered adult videos on line and was not caught for 2 t 3 weeks. The boy is 10...

The mother laughed about the situation. I had chills as I listened. I had been waiting for the - we are taking him to Christian counseling, we have removed cable TV from the home, etc. Nothing, she laughed. She didn't punish him at all.

I am stunned she laughed, I am stunned a 10 year old has these desires as well as the drive to steal, I am stunned he knew how to order movies.

I believe everything the Bible says about the end times, though I do not look for end time signs under every cornflake, I do believe we are seeing II Tim 3 unfold around us, I don't know of a time in history parents didn't parent to the extent we see today, children killing children as well as their parents. Mothers to be making the decision to end the pregnancy. The smut on TV and at the movie theatres, the lyrics to many songs are so ungodly. In prayer ministry I often listen to people as they try to justify sinful behavior. We see it on commercials, many of them tell us to be selfish. The world tells us to be selfish, we deserve whatever it is that is being sold. This type of thing has always been around, but the last 2 or 3 years it seems to be increasing. I base this opinion and it's only my opinion on the following from II Tim 3:

1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
6They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth—men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

We must guard what flows into our homes via the Internet, TV, movies, books, magazines, and music. We must also remember when dealing with children rules without relationship usually brings rebellion.

As I often say, stay in the Word and keep your eyes on the Lord. In fact if we keep reading II Tim 3 we hear the good news:

12In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Remember Jesus died for all of us, He loves us, He wants us saved, healed, and delivered. Abide in Him and He will abide in you.
